Our first Evening was held on January 13, 2010 and it was an incredible success!
The two hundred attendees included local farmers, Greenmarket organizers, restaurateurs, investors, journalists, urban farmers, food entrepreneurs, agriculture technology inventors, CSA members, filmmakers, authors, professors of food studies, food lawyers, and so many others.
Around the room, people engaged in conversations about public health, local food system development, funding the food revolution, responsible animal husbandry, biodiversity, agriculture technology, clean food, rural economic development, natural resource degradation, and how to start a natural food business. We were joined by special guest Ian Cheney, filmmaker behind the documentary “King Corn” and co-creator of the “Truck Farm” project.
We are all energized about sustainable agriculture, and the Evening just magnified the energy!
