Senior Associate/Vice President, Investment Banking and Brand Strategy (posted 2/24/2010)
Responsibilities: Half the employee’s time will be spent working on M&A and investment banking assignments and the other half will be spent planning the Agriculture 2.0 conference series (www.agriculture20.com) and strategically developing the Agriculture 2.0 brand.
The ideal candidate:
* is a graduate of a top school
* has 3-5 years of work experience
* has worked as an analyst or associate in investment banking
* has proficiency at building financial models, creating investor presentations, and performing market research
Experience with legal documentation, intellectual property, social media and/or agriculture are a plus
Research Analyst, Sustainable Agriculture Industry (posted 2/24/2010)
Responsibilities: The analyst will manage a research platform which will create distributable market research for investors in the burgeoning “sustainable agriculture” sector. Initially, reports will be “initiating coverage”-style with broad sector overviews with detailed statistics. Additionally, the analyst will track transactions in the sector and interface with company management teams. Most transactions are private market transactions with limited public information available, so most company analysis is qualitative. Industry-wide analysis, however, will be deeply analytical. This is a unique opportunity to build out a research platform from the ground up, while utilizing the resources and brand recognition of a well-known firm in the sustainable agriculture industry. The analyst will, eventually, be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of research analysts.
The ideal candidate:
* is a graduate of a top school
* has worked as in equity or credit research analyst at a top-tier firm (buy side or sell side)
* has proficiency at building financial models and performing market research
* has some familiarity with relevant industries, specifically agriculture, commodities, plant science, biotech, industrial equipment and food
Managing Director, Marketing and Events (posted 2/24/2010)
Responsibilities: The managing director will: run the existing NewSeed Advisors global events business, specifically the Agriculture 2.0 conferences and related events, be responsible for setting up new related events in Europe and Canada, seek out complimentary opportunities with existing events and trade shows, be responsible for marketing the events, and recruit/train/manage a team of event planners.
* is a graduate of a top school
* has 5+ years of relevant event planning experience
* has experience in business development and public relations
* has demonstrated an ability to build a business platform with minimal oversight
